There are many ProductCart-powered stores that do so. The only thing that you need to keep in mind is that when you add image file names on the Add/Edit product pages, you need to remember that ProductCart assumes that every image is in the "catalog" folder.

For example, if you were to add the image "myThumbnail.gif" as the thumbnail image file, and assuming that the file were located in the sub-folder "toys" of the "pc/catalog" folder, you would have to enter "toys/myThumbnail.gif" in the corresponding field.

    Author: bearlygrins
Subject: 942
Posted: 09-July-2007 at 1:23am

When I FTP to the productcart catalog folder to add pictures, it's EXTREMELY slow because the FTP program lists all the files in that folder. There is currently no option to separate product photos into different folders. Having them all thrown into the same location is a nightmare, especially when trying to find ones to delete or reviewing.

I have 3 pictures of each product and over 1,000 products = 3,000 pictures. I want to add several thousand more products. I'd be willing to add the path to a different folder, but even that doesn't work.

I think sub-folders should be created in the catalog folder to store product photos numerically & alphabetically. (Sorting by store category would not be good if you have a product listed under more than one category.)

Thanks for considering this to eliminate a huge nightmare for many of us!
