    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forum.productcart.com/member_profile.asp?PF=21">amgqmp1</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 78<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 14-December-2005 at 11:54am<br /><br /><P>From my experience...(I had this problem occur for over a year)...it can be a file-locking issue (if you are using an Access DB).</P><P>One thing that every ProductCart Admin using an Access DB should know...is that you really shouldn't perform a normal file copy backup of the Access DB (from my experience).&nbsp; Standard file copies perform some extra tasks that can interfere with IIS and make the store go kaboom (until IIS or the system are restarted).</P><P>For over a year my shop would run a backup script in the middle of the night...and if someone tried to access the store while the file copy was happening...it blew up.&nbsp; The solution for us was to write a&nbsp;command-line file copy program that perform the most basic of file copies.&nbsp; Our store hasn't had a single hiccup since I impleneted that 5-6 months ago.</P><P>Not sure if any of this is applicable in your case...but, from my experience it's an important caveat&nbsp;to know about when employing any backup schema that might involve the transfer of the Access DB while the store is running.</P><P>&nbsp;</P>]]>

We are getting the "Error while opening database" error.</P><P>I have checked the following items:<BR>1. The Path is the same<BR>2. The database is in the same location<BR>3. Downlaoded the db, did a compact and repair, re-uploaded, no go</P><P>Any other suggestions?</P>]]>
