We recently got a request from a client to make it so that even if they have a coupon that is set to automatically apply at checkout (and not be combined with others), that the customer is able to delete that code and enter a new one (for instance one they got from a email blast and it's better than the automatic one). When they first sent this I assumed that it would actually work that way and that they weren't doing something right, but I found that even in V5 it doesn't work like this.  I think this would be a good feature to add for future releases.
