By default, Order Shipped emails are only sent if the order is run through the Shipping Wizard or is in a collection of batch shipped orders; else, no Order Shipped email should be sent.

If using the Shipping Wizard, you have the option to edit the Order Shipped email.

This all sounds just like the feature functionality you are looking for. Am I missing something in your request? There should not be any functionality to automatically send out Order Shipped emails without them being triggered by one of the above events.

We are offering customers to pickup their order instore rather than shipped and would like to not send an "order shipped" email automatically but rather will email them manually to advise what date and time their order will be ready for pickup. It seems possible to turn off Order Processed/Order Confirmed emails but the shipping email automatically sends without an option not to, is there a work around anyone has used?.
