Hi Mark,

If I'm understanding you correctly here I think the custom shipping methods could work for you with a little code customization as well. That way you could use built in Productcart functionality and not have to build your own file and hook it up to Productcart. That would take a lot more work than what I am thinking you could do via the custom shipping methods. I think I could help you with this but I'd need to know more on exactly how you are thinking things will work in the control panel. Yes, and it only gives the following:

  • Flat rate based on order amount
  • Percentage of order amount
  • Flat rate based on order quantity
  • Flat rate based on order weight
  • Incremental calculation based on order quantity

          None of these are what I want to achieve as I had stated in my previous post.

          I want to make a completely custom shipping options selection for customers to select from instead of what is provided by shipping companies or ProductCart.

          Is there a way to a) create my own shipping options file and b) connect/upload it to ProductCart?

          To further explain, I want a drop-down selection or radio buttons in the checkout process that will ONLY offer what I want AND it not calculate shipping charges.  We're having a lot of issues with the shipping calculations from Federal Express - sometimes the linked system will overcharge, other times it'll undercharge depending on the product(s) someone selects.  Since we use our own boxes and they vary by what quantity of items we need to ship (and since prices fluctuate depending on weight AND box size via FedEx) nothing calculates properly and the owners don't want to deal with the inaccuracy.

          So, I want to make a file that I can upload or link-to ProductCart that will take the place of all the other options.  I don't want it to calculate anything during checkout, just give a list of "generic" options that we want displayed.  Example of a list of options:

          Ground Shipping
          Expedited Shipping
          Freight Delivery
          Pickup At ESS
          Hand-Carry
          ESS Delivery
          Cust. Scheduled Pickup
          Call with Options

          This way, when we print the orders, one of these selections will come up in the "Shipped Via" so we will know what to do with it.  Our stocking and shipment methods have so many variables, that we cannot get accurate shipping costs and delivery times.  By keeping it as basic as possible and no costs (we have our e-mails and checkout messages that will inform the customer of how things will progress) we can avoid a lot of issues.

          Can anyone help me on this??
