   <title><![CDATA[Global Changes within Description - Export/Import? : One of the frustrating limitations...]]></title>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forum.productcart.com/member_profile.asp?PF=1407">Lindsay</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 5701<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 18-August-2013 at 2:55pm<br /><br /><br>One of the frustrating limitations of the "global changes" tool is that there is no "find and replace" tool for text elements of of a product (title &amp; description)<br><br>For example, if you have 200 products from a single manufacturer that all say in the description that they are "made in the USA", and the manufacturer moves their manufacturing overseas is there any option other than the manually edit 200 descriptions?<br><br>I hope in the future a "find and replace" tool will be added, in the meantime <b>would it work to export only a list of descriptions, do a find and replace on the exported data, and then import the edited descriptions as an update to existing products? </b>I've not imported products to PC for years, so not sure how that works- but thought I'd ask before investing hours in the attempt. <br><br><br>]]>
