I will have to give it a try. 

For me, I really just want to run select statements - but it will be nice to be able to run the others as well.

Here is a file that can perform this task. As you know, database changes cannot be undone. Be careful and backup the database!

I agree with Hamlet.

Having to go outside of Productcart for custom queries is a quiet abstract.
Also when the MS SQL is hosted on a shared server, it is a fair amount of trouble to configure Enterprise manager. You have at least two customers who are interested.....

You could limit the querys to "select" statements and not allow Create, Update or Insert Statements (or others that you think would be disruptive).

There is a big difference between the two. If you run a query directly using MS Access or EM, then you are operating outside ProductCart. In that scenario, ProductCart is clearly not involved, as it is in no way "enabling" you to perform that task. It is something that you are doing at your own risk.

This is something that we have considered, but which we have decided not to add to the system up to this point. The main concern is that it provides too much room for error, and could easily lead to disruptive results if used improperly.
