From memory I think you have to edit viewprd.asp and viewprdcode.asp to remove the short description. There are some other files that deal with the actual display and layout of this area called viewprdc.asp, viewprdL.asp and viewprdO.asp. These are use when you choose the display options in the control panel - image on left, image on right etc. All these files are found in the pc folder. 
 
I find this easiest to do in visual studio but there are other tools for the job.
 
If you are familiar with asp code you can do it yourself. If not I would suggest asking one of the developers here. It's not a difficult job.

Using version 4.1B sp2

Is there a way to stop ProductCart displaying the short description on the product page?

I have not been using the short description because I like the layout I have on the Product Description Page, but I want to display the Short Description on the Search Results Page for additional information.
