Author: LittleOnesResource
Subject: 4805
Posted: 18-October-2011 at 4:13pm

Yes, that is there, but that isn't my problem.

My problem is when I try to edit a sub-subcategory. If I click on "edit" I am taken to the "Modify Category" page. The first tab is "Name, Parent, & Images." If I scroll through the "Parent Category" drop down list, NONE of my subcategories are shown. Only top level categories are shown and the selection is defaulting to "No Parent - Top Level Category."

For example, I am trying to edit "Engines & Vehicles" which has the following tree: "Chuggington > Diecast > Engines & Vehicles." Only "Chuggington" shows in the "Parent Category" drop down and NOT "Diecast[Chuggington]" (like it used to with v3.51).

Because the selection is defaulting to "No Parent - Top Level Category" AND I cannot select the correct parent because my sub-categories are NOT showing up in the drop down list, this means I cannot edit any of my sub-subcategories because the navigation will get changed to something that is incorrect.

I hope that makes more sense.

I really need help here.

Thanks.
Amy.

Either will show you the subcategories. If that does not solve he issue then please raise a support ticket & we will take a look.
Author: LittleOnesResource
Subject: 4805
Posted: 18-October-2011 at 3:41pm

I recently upgraded from v3.51 to v4.1 sp2 and now I cannot modify/edit my second level subcategories because they do not show up in the "Parent Category" drop down list anymore. I didn't have this problem before the upgrade, but now my subcategories do not appear in this drop down list.

I can create a new second level category as all parent and subcategories appear in the drop down list, but after I create the new subcategory, I cannot go back and edit it because all the sub-categories have disappeared and the drop down selection defaults to "No Parent - Top Level Category" which is not the correct selection....but I can't select the correct one as it is not there to select.

I don't understand what may be wrong. I have not changed any other settings. Everything just carried over so maybe I have missed something I am not aware of.

Thanks.
Amy.
