You dohave to add the dtata to the products first using the cutsom search fields but from what I can gather this si what you are loking for.

I have a problem with customizing my product cart. I would like to be able to narrow down products for my customers. For example:

Lets say a customer comes to my online store and clicks on a parent category with many sub categories. I would like the left hand navigation to show all the brands that offer that category. Then when the customer clicks on a brand, I would like the nav to change again and show the product lines of that specific brand. 

 

(Category)     (Brands)       (Product Lines)                 

Shoes        -> Adidas         Swift, Xspeed Running, ect.

                -> Nike            Jordans, VertiLeap

                -> Sketchers     TeenFit, Powerball, ect.

 

This is the best way I could represent what I want.

The only option I've been told has been to use the custom fields and then do a search, but I would much rather prefer to do it this way because it gives me more flexibility.

 

I have tried doing it with a code such as this on the navigation field.

 

<% IF idCategories=23 the

//////DISPLAY WHATEVER I WANT

END IF

%>     <--- I have the right synthax on page, but I dont have it open now.

It worked when I did IF IDBrand=# but doesn't work with categories.

Their system is exactly what I am looking for.
