Author: ProductCart
Subject: 373
Posted: 06-May-2011 at 11:34am

Just a quick note so there isn't any confusion:

When the cart is setup you have a choice between "pounds" and "kilograms" this is a one time choice because the value saved in the database is based on this setting. If "pounds" is selected the weight is saved as "ounces" in the database. If "kilograms" is selected then the weight is saved as "grams" in the database.

Therefore, if you setup your cart to use "pounds" and you have a product that you set as 1 pound 6 ounces, it would be saved as "22" in the database. If you simply change the variable mentioned above to "KGS" then the cart will assume the value in the database is grams and your product will now have the assigned weight of 22 grams.

So if you do change your weight unit, you will need to also alter all the weights for your products.

Here is an FAQ from our Knowledge base:

http://www.earlyimpact.com/faqs/e-commerce_shopping_cart_questions.asp?faqid=200

Edited by earlyimp - 06-May-2011 at 11:36am

The value is not stored as grams. It's stored in whatever value the store is set to use. (Posted mostly for the benefit of others at this late date).
