This is done to avoid performance issues when importing MS Excel files. To remove the limitation, download the file step4-xls.asp from your Control Panel folder, open it in Notepad or your favorite HTML editor, and locate the line that reads 
<% iPageSize=3000

I'm having a problem with the Import Wizard where it's only allowing me to import 3000 products at a time.
 
I'm using Excel from Office 2000.  I'm not a newbie, and I've used this wizard before.  I've checked and re-checked my spreadsheet to make sure it's complying with the format restrictions.
 
If I have more than 3000 rows (not including the header) in my Excel spreadsheet, anything past that will get an error when the wizard is finished.  It will say it couldn't import those products because of missing SKU and missing Product Name.
 
If I split up my spreadsheet into seperate ones with 3000 rows each, it works fine.
