I had the same enquiry from a customer about 3 years ago and did something similar to Katharina.

We had to add something to make the customer aware that the goods would not be despatched until the cheque had cleared.

I've done this on my site. It does not require customization. Under payment option select custom option. This will add more options in addition to what you already have. We have set up "Call in credit card", "fax in credit card", and "mail check/money order". In addition we have also enabled paypal. I have to say we seldom get checks, occasionally a call in or fax in credit card, but a good amount of paypal payments. People feel secure with all those options, and you are right about the incorrect total amounts. This eliminates it.

Hi,

We often receive mail orders for our product (Cheque/money order) but we notice that customers do not provide us the proper total. I am wondering if it is possible to have an option in the cart where someone could print the order for faxing or mail order. In other words, they add products to their cart, checkout and have the option to print the order and this would be properly formatted to fit on a printed hard copy. Doing this will provide the exact amount for payment (taxes, etc).

Is anyone currently doing this for their store? Is this a customization?
