Greg, here's an example for #1

The normal product is a case of fifty 1.0oz shampoos.

For #1, could you give an example of what you need to block?
 
For #2, custom code could provide such a solution. Nothing that stock functionality allows unless you feel that using a wholesaler login + "product available to wholesaler only" settings could be made to work for you.

I'm sorry if this has been covered already, I did look for previous posts.

Is it possible to block items from showing up in the returned search results a user would see? I don't use wholesale/retail on my website so I can't do it that way.

Another question, is it possible to have certain products behind a password protected login? I doubt this one is doable.
