    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forum.productcart.com/member_profile.asp?PF=4">katharina</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 2532<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 19-March-2009 at 3:53pm<br /><br />I have seen java scripts for it, but most you can trick easily.&nbsp; You may not be able to right click and save, but you can find the image location by viewing the source code.&nbsp; Next paste the image location into your browser, right click and save.&nbsp; <br><br>Then you still have the issue of search engines like google to pick them up and display them in their image search.&nbsp; Ok, you can tell them not to spider/index a subdirectory.&nbsp; <br><br>Basically nothing is fool proof and water marking seems to be the only half way save thing.&nbsp; On the other hand you may wan't your images be available to customs, like wholesale customers, so they can use it in their catalog.<br><br>You can also have your url put onto the large image, but that may cover areas of interest.<br><br>Katharina<br>]]>

You can make it a bit trickier with various methods but every one of these can easily be overcome with a simple screengrab (print screen) or a tool, such as cropper, which allows a portion of the screen (such as your images) to be grabbed in a wide variety of image formats.<br><br>If you watermark your images they become <u>much</u> less use to others as if they post them on their own site they end up both promoting yours and it's also obvious what they have done.<br>This can be done in bulk by many image editing applications. You should be careful with watermarking as you need to ensure it doesn't detract from the usefulness of the images to your real customers. <br>&nbsp; <br>]]>
