I have the same problem with the search bar on my homepage www.landmarq.co.uk

In IE it jumps about half inch up out of line with the checkout line but in Firefox it sits where it should in line. I tried a few fixes around the net but none seemed to work.

Thanks in advance Andy,
In Firefox the field is at the top of the menu, but in IE7 the field is close to the middle. If I us padding or margin to move the search field to the middle in Firefox then it moves to the bottom in IE7. Here is a link of the test menu to check out.
http://www.hhsignsupply.com/vqm/hhtopmenu.htm
