Another thing you can do is add the statement <!--#include file="CustLIv.asp" --> to the begin in of every page you feel is a restricted part of your store.  It checks to make sure that there is a logged in user, and if not, redirects to the login form and then returns to the previous page (great for handling users that have book marked straight to products, and it also allows you to still market to your users and include linkis direct to products.

 
We also added a login box to the landing page.

If you go this route and the logged in customers should still pay taxes then check the store tax settings.
