I had files like that in the past.  A way to get around it is to copy the image in the image editor.  You click on the image, press ctrl-c, and then ctrl-v.  Then you save the copy of the original.  Pain in the b... but this should work.

Chris,
     Did you extract the files from the ZIP before editing them?
It should just be a case of extracting, editing & then FTPing the files  up to replace the current ones.

I downloaded the zip file of the button profile I wanted to modify (.png version of the "White" group) & changed the font color of the text on all the buttons. But when I go to save the file (or each one individually) I get a message saying the file is locked.
 
Can anyone send me a quick step by step on modifying & uploading the buttons? Thanks in advance. Chris  cesmith2@memphis.edu
