Due to the nature of my site, a medium large site with a mixture of pre-existing html and productcart pages I was having a problem creating and maintaining a google site map with the built in tool.  If you are having a similar problem I highly recommend SOFTplus GSiteCrawler it is free and I am not associated with him. Just a happy user. will handle 50,000 + pages and break them up automatically in to separate files and automatically submit them on any schedule you want.
