Has there ever been an answer to this question? We are running across a similar scenario where a phone order is placed and certain price overrides need to be made after the order si saved. We are placing the order as a "prepaid" order, making the price adjustments, and then we would like to change the payment method to "Credit Card".

Is this possible? Thanks!

Can you change the payment method on an order after it has been placed?  If so, how? 

We have some products setup that we do not know the price of at the time the order is placed, we enter this information later after we've gathered some info from the customer. Problem is, I see no way to select a payment method or change it for the order once it's been placed.

We can always manually auth/capture at the gateway, but the payment will still cannot be changed to reflect what payment method was used or enter the transaction info so it shows up on the Payment Status window.

I understand we can put notes in the Comments field on the General page, but this does not reflect on the Customers end. Surely there is some way to edit this payment info in case a customer changes thier mind on a check payment and wants to pay by credit card instead and similar scenarios... isn't there?
