I've looked around but can't seem to find an answer - so I thought I would ask here.

Is there a way to allow a product to be viewed by all, but only purchased by a "wholesale" account? 

I'm working on a site where some of the products are serial numbered parts that must be transferred to a dealer.  I don't want the end user to be able to buy them, but I do want the wholesaler (licensed dealer) to be able to purchase them from the site for the sake of inventory and such.

Is there a way to do this without creating a separate product only visible to the dealer/wholesaler?
