For example, there might be accessories, related products, etc. You can show all of them on the configuration page, and "conflict management" rules can be setup so that only compatible products can be selected.

If you need additional information and clarifications, it might be best to setup a call with one of our staff. Contact us to setup a call, if you wish to do so.

Edited by earlyimp - 04-March-2008 at 6:43am

    Author: kiwi
Subject: 1183
Posted: 04-March-2008 at 3:25am

Thanks - I will do this when I have purchased ProductCart, but to slightly complicate things we have this scenario:

We sell artificial trees. Most types of tree come in a selection of heights and depending on height we offer a selection of pots that we plant the tree into.
So for example if we have 3ft, 4ft, 5ft & 6ft versions of a tree (individual SKUs) we can offer 6 pots to fit 3ft trees, 3 different pots to fit 4ft trees... you get the idea. Each pot is a different type, size and price and will have it's own SKU.

We want customers to find what they want without fuss so if they select a 4ft tree from a dropdown of tree heights available in that tree type, we should show the price (not the base price differential) for that height of tree and a dynamically altered dropdown with pot options for 4ft trees, which should show the pot types and "add $xx.xx". One pot option will not have a price as the tree already comes in a pot used in manufacture which we call a utility pot and customers choose this option if they have their own pot.

When added to the basket the two items should be grouped so we know that this tree is to be planted in the pot selected.

We do not want to have each size of tree as a different product as we have too many and will complicate decision making and pots are also available to purchase without a tree.

Which of your ProductCart shopping carts will cope with this out of the box and please can you instruct us on how to set this up in a demo?

Many thanks
Kiwi

Edited by kiwi - 04-March-2008 at 3:26am

(or at least is this the easiest way of doing it?) Alternatively, is is straightforward to modify the Apparel system to use the sub-prpduct details for price instead of the main product? Presumably the data field is available to do this?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can make a sound suggestion.

Edited by MikeCC - 19-October-2007 at 7:34am
